Catalog description
Instructional Method: Three hours lecture; three hours laboratory. Prerequisites: CHEM 112 ; MATH 172 ; PHYS 112 or PHYS 222 . A study of chemical thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, and quantum chemistry as applied to chemical reactivity, chemical equilibria, and molecular structure. The laboratory component to this course introduces students to modern laboratory instrumentation and experimental techniques in physical chemistry as performed by professional chemists.
