Catalog description

Instructional Method: Two hours lecture. Introduces further learning of scientific research through the understanding of key elements in the biological scientific literature. A survey of the different bodies of reference materials available for research in the biological literature will be offered. This course will provide the opportunity to gain proficiency in accessing, interpreting and synthesizing messages from different research efforts in the life sciences. The student will ultimately be able to learn how to use the biological literature in order to evaluate specific scientific publications.
