Catalog description

Instructional Method: Three hours lecture. Prerequisites: MATH 137 or equivalent. A quantitative introduction to astronomy for science majors. Survey of astronomy including history of astronomy, nature of light and gravity, telescopes and astronomical observations, evolution and dynamics of Earth and our solar system, dwarf planets and exoplanets. Note(s): Students may not receive credit for both ASTR 111 and ASTR 151.
