Catalog description

Prerequisites: Successful completion of all prior coursework or with permission from the department. This course is a combination of four independent but interrelated topics important to the education of physical therapist: (1) Prevention, (2) Health Promotion, (3) Fitness, and (4) Wellness. These topics contribute to the ultimate goal of optimum health for individual/patients of all ages in the community. Components of health promotion and wellness programs are presented with the emphasis on intervention, prevention, and promotion of health, wellness, and fitness. The relationship among good behaviors, health education, and health promotion will be explored.
