Catalog description

This course is designed to provide instruction in basic literacy skills necessary to be effective in psychology. Students will receive training in searching, accessing, reading, and critically evaluating scientific databases, articles and chapters; writing APA style research reports and review papers; using SPSS, Excel, and other software programs to manipulate and analyze data; and presenting psychological research in various formats including written, graphic, and oral formats. In addition, career and graduate school opportunities will be presented and reviewed. This course is designated as writing intensive. Prerequisite: PSY 101. (Offered every term.)
