Catalog description

This course will provide an overview of the major areas of clinical bioethics. Participants will gain familiarity with fundamentals of clinical ethics, case precedents, and issues encountered in clinical practice such as informed consent, decision-making capacity, end-of-life, advance directive, medical futility, pediatric ethics, maternal- fetal conflicts, organ donation, and cultural diversity. The course format integrates lecture and active case discussion to provide both the necessary theoretical grounding and real- world ethical problem-solving skills.
