Catalog description
This course teaches students how to identify, analyze, research, and debate complex ethical issues. It examines key ideas from ethical theory and applies them to pressing healthcare issues such as genetic engineering, neuroethics, physician assisted suicide, and the allocation of scarce medical resources. Though the focus is on healthcare, the concepts and methods studied in the course are applicable to many professions and, more generally, personal life. (Offered every fall term).
