Catalog description

This course investigates philosophical issues raised by thought-provoking films. Possible topics include: machine intelligence in Blade Runner, personal identity in Memento, ethics of love in Vertigo, sociopolitical philosophy in Fight Club, and feminist philosophy in Talk to Her. Students learn to thoughtfully engage film and to extend their insights to their daily lives. (Offered every fall term)
