Catalog description

Vocal Ltierature: This course will be a survey of western solo vocal literature from approximately 1550 to the present, with emphasis on Italian, German, French, English, and American song. Students will learn about important styles and composers of vocal literature and study representative selections of the standard vocal literature through listening assignments, song performances, and other projects. Students will gain a working knowledge of appropriate vocal repertoire for students and various voice types. Prerequisite: MUS 323 or by permission from the instructor. (Offered every fall term alternating with MUS 323.)
