Single Variable Calculus I

Catalog description

Introduction to the derivative and the integral with application to the sciences. The course begins with the concept of limit before introducing the derivative of a single-variable function and its applications to graphing, rates of change, and optimization. The one-variable integral is then explored with application to area, length, and volume. Prerequisite: MAT 140 or successful demonstration of precalculus proficiency. (Offered every fall and spring term.)
