Catalog description
Introductory Statistics for Social Sciences: An introduction to the fundamentals of analyzing numerical data in varied contexts including the social sciences, health sciences, and business. Students will learn sampling methods, descriptive statistics, probability and sampling distributions, estimation hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and analysis of variance. Emphasis will be on an intutive understanding of statistical formulae and models, and their practical application. A statistical software package will be used for computer data analysis. Prerequisite: None. (Offered every fall and spring term.)
