Catalog description

The American Civil War was one of the defining moments in American history. In this course, students will explore the road to secession, the war itself, and the political effort to reunite the Union after four years of bloody conflict. Through the examination of both secondary and primary sources, students will also examine the meaning of this important event from a national, sectional, racial, constitutional, individual, social, political and moral perspective. No prerequisite. (Offered every other even fall term.)
