Catalog description

This course introduces the histories of China, Korea, Vietnam and Japan from the 15th century to the present. Emphasis is placed on the study of the social, political and religious interconnections that shaped East Asia prior to the 18th century and the impact Western colonialism had on the region thereafter. No prerequisite. (Offered every odd fall term.)
