Catalog description

This course describes the various financial markets and the financial institutions that serve those markets. The course will focus on the behavior of major financial institutions, including commercial banks, and their role in the intermediation process as suppliers of funds to the money and capital markets. Other topics include primary and secondary financial markets, treasury and agency securities markets, municipal securities markets, financial futures markets, and stock markets in the U.S. and worldwide. Prerequisite: FIN 360. (Offered spring term.)
