Consider a cause or nonprofit organization that you believe in. Now, how can you help promote that nonprofit or cause? This class will show you. Through writing, you’ll learn the best ways to increase the visibility of your organization. You’ll practice telling the stories of the organizations and the stories of their clients, the people they help. You’ll also fashion a voice for the group, over time, across a range of media. A consistent voice is crucial to the cause. While social media is also vital, you’ll look at how to choose the right platforms and how to concentrate on the quality, not the quantity, of posts choosing the best uses of social media. To help you in promoting your cause/organization, you’ll participate in workshop discussions of your works-in-progress. Prerequisite: ENG 204 or permission of the instructor. (Offered every even fall term)
