Catalog description

This course will examine different kinds of cultural artifacts, from traditional literary forms to film, music, television shows, comic books, and other forms of popular culture. In studying cultural artifacts, we'll examine different ways of representing gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and national identity as we try to understand how individuals are affected by the cultural forms they experience, create and consume. The course may be repeated once for credit with a different topic. Prerequisite: QEN 101. (Offered every odd spring term.)
