Not Your Inspiration Porn: Disability Literature: This course will provide an introduction to literature from disabled writers as well as to disability scholars’ and activists’ critiques of representations of disability in other literature and media. We will read literary works by a diverse set of disabled writers working within a variety of genres and contexts, and we will examine depictions of disability by abled writers. This class will also provide an introduction to some basic disability studies concepts to help you develop a disability lens through which to engage with literature and other media. Prereq: QEN 101. Credit: 4.
