Catalog description

"Make it new," Ezra Pound said at the beginning of the 20th century, as writers and artists around the world struggled to come to grips with vast cultural and historical changes. In this course, we'll study how Modernist writers reinvented literary forms and techniques and searched for new values to sustain them in a rapidly changing world. Prerequisite: QEN 101. (Offered every odd spring term.)
