Catalog description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of close reading. Students will study the crafting of various genres of literature, and they will hone their active reading skills, engaging with diverse texts in a variety of ways such as annotating and sketch-noting. Students will consider the significance of form, genre and theme within rhetorical situations. Emphasis on authors, genres, or themes may vary. (Offered every fall term.)
