Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce candidates to the critical role that leaders have in the success of schools, the success of systems, the success of a global community, and the success of the individual student. Candidates will build a foundation of knowledge as they reflect upon the history of the princpalship and various leadership theories. Candidates will discuss and explore the role of the school leader as change agent, the challenges associated with this role, and the value of systemic thinking and planning in the management and leadership of schools. In addition, this course will introduce the candidate to the first component of the culminating program capstone project. For this work, candidates will engage in a reflection and analysis, grounded in data, of the status and needs of their current school. Credit:
