Social Studies Methods and Materials in Elementary Education: This course examines effective methodologies for teaching Social Studies in the elementary school with focus on reflective writing and the value of a multicultural environment. Common Core State Standards and NC Essential Standards will guide student learning. Cooperative learning, group process, and inquiry models will be used in planning lessons. Multi-faceted assessment techniques will be practiced. (Offered every summer term.)
