Critical Issues in Elementary Education: Classroom Management, Law, Leadership: This course will examine the origin, development, and current status and trends of elementary school curriculum. This course will also explore social, historical, legal, political and philosophical issues that impact K-6 education nationally and internationally. Special emphasis will be placed on addressing classroom management, leadership, parental involvement, community service, and ethical advocacy. A year-long student teaching experience begins in this course. A field experience is required. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. (Offered every fall term.)
