Conflict Management

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the study of conflict and effective strategies for managing conflict. In today’s society it is vital for students to not only become more knowledgeable of the underlying social, economic, and ideological factors that contribute to conflict but how to manage it to maintain productive and healthy relationships. Therefore, this class will examine various ways in which conflict can be understood and the value decisions one will need to address as one determines not only how to deal with conflict, but how to manage its various existence in a human community, both personally and professionally. The importance of ethical communication in managing various conflict situations is also addressed. Prerequisite: None.
