Catalog description

This course examines the role of health communication in our everyday lives, with a focus on health communication theories, strategies, and competencies that inform, educate, and influence individuals, families, health care organizations, and communities. This course explores the dynamics and impact of health communication between individuals and the health care system such as provider- patient communication, cultural conceptions of health and medicine, and mediated constructions of health. Prerequisite: None. (Offered every fall term.)
