Conservation Biology

Catalog description

This course focuses on the protection and management of biodiversity. Topics include space conservation, causes and consequences of declines in global biodiversity, habitat fragmentation, management approaches, biological reserve design, restoration of ecosystems, sustainable use of biological resources, and the roles of conservation biologists in policy making. Lecture: 3 hours, Lab 1 hour: Lab fees apply. Recommended prerequisite: MAT 130, MAT 131, MAT 260 or QLC *60 Quantitative Literacy: Statistics. Prerequisite: BIO 202, or permission of instructor. Credit: 4 (Every other fall)
