Catalog description

This course explores the global relationship between the law and the arts, both historically and in contemporary society. Emphasis will be given to ethical and legal issues,including intellectual property, entertainment and non-profit law, and the art market, including stolen art, forgeries, sales, copyright laws, charitable contributions, the repatriation of cultural objects and the illicit international trade in art. Lab fee applies. Prerequisite: None. (Offered every even fall term.)
