(ANTH 28200) This course offers students an introduction to the interdisciplinary study of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer lives. It provides a basic grounding in theories of sexuality and LGBT histories, identities and movements in the U.S. and globally. Typically offered Fall Spring. Prerequisite(s): WGSS 28000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Students will gain a broad overview of the cultural history of sexualities both in the West and globally from the pre-modern era to the contemporary period. They will grasp the way sexual and gender identities change over time and across space. They will analyze how sexual identity intersects with gender, race, and class. They will develop a theoretical understanding of the social construction of sexuality, sexual identities and transgender identities. View Class Schedule
