Catalog description

Introduction to the Stanislavski Method through scene work. The student will present four to eight scenes of increasing complexity, beginning with modern, realistic drama. Textual analysis, advanced game work and improvisation. Typically offered Fall Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Stretch and develop acting skills from previous acting courses. 2. Discover and Exhibit effective ways of entering the playing space. 3. Explore the text with a thorough understanding of play analysis. 4. Break down the play into its parts in order to make stronger acting choices. 5. Commit fully to acting choices made. 6. Score a role in a scene and a monologue to effectively perform a role. 7. Explore human behavior and discover ways to bring that to your acting work. 8. Respond truthfully in the moment based on the circumstances given in the play. View Class Schedule
