Understanding and appreciation of the theatre’s role in the modern world, theatre’s past contributions and history (overview), dramatic structure and analysis through required viewing and reading, and the contributions of the actor, director, designer, and critic. Typically offered Summer Fall Spring.CTL:IFA 1302 Theatre Appreciation General Education: Humanities Course Learning Outcomes 1. Recognize and describe theatrical works and patterns of human experience. 2. Apply theatrical methodologies, epistemologies, and traditions from theatre and performance. 3. Analyze and evaluate theatrical texts, works, objects and events in their cultural, intellectual, and historical contexts. 4. Create, interpret, and reinterpret theatrical works through performance, analysis, and criticism. 5. Analyze diverse narratives and evidence to explore human complexity across space and time.
