Junior Practicum And Integrative Seminar

Catalog description

Junior practicum consists of 120 hours of direct service in a faculty approved social work setting. Student is supervised by an agency professional and participates in PNW social work faculty led weekly seminar. Students are exposed to social work professionals in different settings. Each setting provides a participant observer experiences enabling students to begin applying theories and concepts of behavioral sciences and social work to actual practice. Typically offered Spring. Demonstrate the application of content and skills from other courses to work with real client systems in the context of an agency setting. 2. Demonstrate the development of your professional social work identity. 3. Describe the responsibilities of a student in the field as evidenced by discussion activities in class and various related practicum paperwork. 4. Effectively use supervision as evidenced by discussion activities in class and in the field and various related course/practicum paperwork. 5. Identify the values base of the profession and ethical behavior as related to field placement, including knowledge and practice of the NASW Code of Ethics as evidenced by discussion activities in class and various related course/practicum paperwork. 6. Critically reflect about self as a student social worker including: professional roles; identification with the profession; demonstration of awareness of how personal values, behavior, and skills establish professional practice as evidenced by discussion activities in class and related tasks/activities/assignments. 7. Direct and evaluate one’s own learning as evidenced by discussion activities in class and related tasks/activities/assignments. 8.
