Catalog description

Emphasis on logistical requirements and economic realities of on and off site event services. Practical application that will involve students in the planning, organizing and execution of sporting event(s). Also covers information releases and handling various media announcements. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Exhibit measurable knowledge and experiences on the planning and logistical preparations and challenges of serving events on and off site in the Sports Industry. 2. Show awareness of the importance of planning, organizing and executing public functions and handling the media in sport and non-sport arenas. 3. Produce four promotions/media relations and/or releases for the public through the university publications/media department; Gain experience through writing and being evaluated by internal/external professionals on three events with Events Planning Department of the university; Successfully organize/serve two institutional advancement events.
