Training and practical experience of 150 hours in on-and-off campus intercollegiate athletic operations. Exposure to all aspects of the collegiate athletic industry, including away trips to other universities. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Define and describe 20 multi-faceted collegiate athletic experiences observed in collegiate athletics - one of the largest segments of the Sports Industry - in a semester long practicum experience, citing the knowledge and experiences in a written and oral report. 2. Plan, organize and transport athletes to public functions and games at colleges and universities across the multi-state area on two occasions, which will result in an understanding of the importance of the principles of time management and transport challenges for the organization and themselves. 3. Learn about the reality of the business of sports management and the short careers of college athletes and the simultaneous educational process of the athlete through completion of a research paper on all three areas.
