A beginning Spanish course with emphasis on communicative skills (listening and speaking), literacy skills (reading and writing) and culture. Permission of department required. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.CTL:IWL 1910 Spanish Level I Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe themselves, their friends and families, their personal interests and activities using the present and preterite verb tenses. 2. Identify and describe salient aspects of Hispanic culture from around the world. 3. Summarize and discuss orally and in written form short readings on a variety of topics about the Hispanic world, including university life, hobbies, holidays, daily schedules, food, and shopping.
