Catalog description

A beginning course in Russian which builds basic skills in speaking, oral comprehension, reading, and writing in Russian through class participation, structured conversation, and short writing assignments. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the main ideas in short conversations which deal with topics covered in the course. 2. Take part in simple conversations on everyday topics presented in the textbook units. 3. Read and understand basic texts in Russian related to everyday activities. 4. Write a paragraph using simple but coherent sentences about situations and events discussed in class and in the textbook. 5. Begin learning to recognize, appreciate, and compare similarities and differences between their own culture and Russian culture. View Class Schedule
