Adult Developmental Psychopathology

Catalog description

This course will provide integrated exposure to psychopathology, with a particular emphasis on adult psychopathology. We will closely examine etiology, diagnostic criteria, developmental context, assessment, and intervention of adult mental health disorders, as well as the contribution and trajectory of childhood disturbance to the expression of adult psychiatric disorders. Department approval required. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify and distinguish between the primary psychiatric disorders observed throughout adulthood. 2. Apply the developmental psychopathology framework for understanding behavior and classifying emotional and behavioral disturbance. 3. Demonstrate increasing competence in observational and clinical interviewing skills. 4.
