Catalog description

This course will provide integrated exposure to psychopathology, with a particular emphasis on child and adolescent psychopathology. We will closely examine etiology, diagnostic criteria, developmental context, assessment, and intervention of child and adolescent mental health disorders. Department approval required. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify and distinguish between the primary psychiatric disorders observed throughout childhood and adolescence. 2. Apply the developmental psychopathology framework for understanding behavior and classifying emotional and behavioral disturbance. 3. Demonstrate increasing competence in observational and clinical interviewing skills. 4. Practice critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills related to diagnostic and clinical case conceptualization. View Class Schedule
