Catalog description

This course will provide students with an introduction to graduate school and professional development in psychology. Topics will include professional skill development, academic preparation for various career paths, and specific strategies to uncover the “hidden curriculum” and maximize one’s experience as a psychology graduate student. Department approval required. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify various specialty areas and possible career paths in psychology and their associated requirements for training, experience, and specific skills. 2. Demonstrate emerging understanding of and competence in APA Style for referencing and citing scholarly publications. 3. Describe opportunities to get involved with internal and external research and dissemination efforts. 4. Formulate an individually-tailored plan for successfully meeting one’s personal and professional goals in the graduate program. View Class Schedule
