This course attempts to make clear the theoretical and practical implications of learning principles and findings. Various theories of learning are examined and the implications of these theories, and the learning approach generally, for a variety of practical problems are emphasized. Typically offered Summer Fall Spring. Prerequisite(s): PSY 12000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify different types of psychological research that exemplify habituation, Pavlovian/classical conditioning, and instrumental/operant conditioning. 2. Understand experimental designs and interpret empirical results. 3. Apply concepts from class to new situations and research. 4. Demonstrate an understanding of terminology specific to the major forms of learning. 5. Demonstrate an understanding of theoretical accounts that explain basic psychological phenomena.
