Survey of psychological principles and research methods relevant to organizations and industry. Topics covered include research methodology, individual differences, personnel selection, performance measurement, training, motivation, job satisfaction, emotions, work stress, and leadership. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): PSY 12000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the origin, historical development, and current advances of I-O Psychology. 2. Explain and apply the use of scientific methods in I-O Psychology to analyze findings and claims related to research in the workplace. 3. Define and illustrate key theories (e.g., job characteristics model), concepts (e.g., job performance), and techniques (e.g., job analysis) in I-O Psychology. 4. Analyze and integrate I-O Psychology theories and findings from different scholarly traditions (e.g., personality, situation) and different topics (e.g., motivation, leadership). 5. Apply I-O Psychology theories, techniques, and findings to evaluate work conditions and generate possible evidence-based solutions to improve work lives. View Class Schedule
