An intermediate critical treatment of the scientific approach to the study of political behavior. Focus on the advantages and problems of analyzing political phenomena in terms of the following elements of scientific methodology: classification, measurement, generalization, verification, reliability, validity, casual inference and prediction. The importance of these elements for understanding politics will be illustrated by analyzing empirical studies drawn from various fields of political behavior. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.
