An introduction to the fields of public policy and public administration. Processes of policy formation and administration are examined. Different approaches to evaluating and improving public policies are discussed. Typically offered Summer Fall Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the historical foundations and contemporary structure of the policy process and analyze how it affects major political actions and decision-making. 2. Explain how American political institutions, interest groups, and citizens interact to produce public policy. 3.
