Catalog description

An introduction and review of the mathematical techniques and procedures used in intermediate and advanced physics courses. Applications involving vector calculus, linear algebra, complex analysis, Fourier series and transforms, and second-order linear differential equations will be discussed. The course provides additional mathematical preparation for upper division physics. Typically offered every other year. Prerequisite(s): PHYS 25100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- OR PHYS 26100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Students will be able to use the various techniques to solve intermediate to advanced physics problems.
