An examination of the industrial hygiene factors instrumental in maintaining a safe and healthful workplace. Special emphasis is given to the recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational health hazards. Typically offered Fall. Prerequisite(s): MA 14800 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C OR APPL FOR MIN. SCORE OF 075 OR S12 FOR MIN. SCORE OF 610 OR A02 FOR MIN. SCORE OF 30 Course Learning Outcomes 1. Use appropriate ergonomics terms and basic principles or ergonomics where necessary. 2. Establish the relationship between industrial hygiene principles, theory and practice. 3. Explain the importance of Dose-response relationship and the differences between toxicology and hazard in workplaces. 4. Demonstrate the ability to use information technology to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control workplace hazards and use information by researching websites and other databases to find scholarly articles and reports, and to use the information to write and/or discuss issues relative to industrial safety and health management. 5.
