In this course, students will gain the skills necessary to interpret biostatistical concepts commonly used in nursing and health services research, enabling them to analyze statistical results and evaluate health outcomes. Participants will explore the fundamental application of epidemiologic methods and procedures in studying population health. The course will enable students to read and interpret statistical results from primary health science literature relevant to their nursing specialty, be informed consumers of epidemiologic literature, and effectively apply epidemiological principles and biostatistics in quality improvement evaluation and health communication.
