This course focuses on developing advanced competencies for Family Nurse Practitioners in diagnosing and managing complex health conditions in the aging population. Students will enhance their proficiency in managing complex chronic health conditions and associated comorbidities commonly encountered in primary care settings. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and patient centered integrative care approaches. Prerequisite: NUR 62201. Prerequisite(s): NUR 62201 FOR LEVEL GR WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Synthesize advanced knowledge and clinical judgment to formulate differential diagnoses for complex health conditions in adults and older adults. (Aligns with EPSLO 1). 2. Analyze pathophysiological changes and management implications for complex health conditions in the aging population (Aligns with EPSLO 1). 3. Evaluate evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for complex health conditions in adult and older adult populations (Aligns with EPSLO 1). 4. Implement a comprehensive, cost-effective care plan for adult and older adult individuals with complex health conditions, addressing social determinants to promote health equity (Aligns with EPSLO 1, 2). 5.
