Catalog description

This course is based on the essential core principles of quality and safety in healthcare. Topics include enhancing quality and minimizing risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance. Emphasis on both the established and the emerging principles of safety and quality improvement science. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Explore quality improvement principles and models used in the delivery of care. (EPSLO 2) 2. Examine key aspects of a culture of safety in health care settings. (EPSLO 2, 4, 6) 3. Use local, regional and national data sources to identify a clinical problem in the health care setting. (EPSLO 3,4,6) 4.
