Catalog description
This course equips students with competencies to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive health promotion strategies for diverse populations. Students will synthesize epidemiological data to inform evidence-based, cost-effective interventions. The course emphasizes interprofessional collaboration, critical appraisal of current research, and the integration of ethical considerations and technological advancements in health promotion practices. Students will develop skills in primary and secondary health promotion, advanced health coaching, preventive care, and the dissemination of evidence-based guidelines. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks and practical applications, this course prepares students to lead innovative health promotion initiatives that address health inequities, social determinants of health, and contribute to improved population health outcomes. Prerequisite(s): NUR 50301 FOR LEVEL GR WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1.
