Continuing to build on curricular concepts introduced in Adult Health I, evidence based practice is utilized as an approach to person centered care of adults with complex health problems in a variety of healthcare settings. Concepts relative to basic human needs are emphasized. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): NUR 28201 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C Experiential Learning (EXL): Yes Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the nursing process and professional behavior in the delivery of safe, evidence based person-centered, holistic care to adults with select health care alterations and increased acuity. 2. Synthesize concepts of caring, critical thinking and clinical decision-making as the basis of care for adults with select health care alterations and increased acuity. 3. Interpret relationships among disease processes, clinical presentation and nursing management of adult patients with select health care alterations and increased acuity. 4. Employ health care technologies to coordinate care and inform clinical practice decisions in the context of adult patients with increased acuity in a variety of health care settings. 5. Apply principles of effective communication in leadership while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in the context of adult patients with increased acuity. 6.
