or 2.00. An introduction to the army, the profession of arms, and basic soldier skills. Students learn what it means to be a professional in the U.S. Army. The overall focus is introducing them to the Army Leadership Requirements Model and the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program, its purpose in the Army, and its advantages for the student. Other topics include map reading, land navigation, fieldcraft, first aid, and individual/team movement techniques. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate proficiency in mission command philosophy. 2. Demonstrate proficiency in mission command leader and commander tasks. 3. Demonstrate proficiency in mission command staff tasks. 4. Demonstrate proficiency in mission command systems. 5. Demonstrate capacity in creative critical thinking. 6. Demonstrate proficiency in communications skills. 7. Demonstrate proficiency in cultural awareness, cross cultural competencies in the strategic environment of 2025 and beyond. 8.
