Catalog description
Functions of a retail establishment are examined. The topics covered include retail operations planning; buyer behavior, store design, location, and layout; organizing and staffing the retail firm; merchandise management; pricing concepts and strategies; promotion; credit; financial management; and a discussion of the future of retailing. Emphasis is given to significant developments taking place in the major environments of retailing to include social, economic, technological, and legal aspects. Typically offered Spring. Prerequisite(s): MKG 22400 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. To critically analyze the retailing process, the environment within which it operates, and the institutions and functions that are performed. 2.
